Engineering News Record, www.enr.com, a well known and respected construction publication, ranks specialty contractors according to their construction revenue whether generated from specialty contracting in a prime or subcontracting capacity.
Included in the specialty category are the following types of trades: asbestos abatement, concrete, demolition/wrecking, electrical, glazing/curtain wall, mechanical, masonry, painting, roofing, sheet metal, steel erection, utility, wall/ceiling, and excavation/foundation.
Pacific Coast Steel is in the top 10% among specialty contractors in the nation for 2007, ranking number 46 out of 600 according to Engineering News Record report published October 15, 2008. PCS has increased its ENR ranking over the past eight years, rising from its' ranking of 310 in 2000, and 119 in 2004.
Pacific Coast Steel ranks Number One among the union steel companies in the Nation for most man hours worked based on information published by the District Council of Ironworkers. With a workforce of over 1700 employees, PCS is continuing to grow, and has the ability to serve all contracting needs from simple on-grade projects to complicated cast-in-place high rise structures, from small concrete vaults to major waste water treatment facilities, and from routine box culverts to suspended bridge superstructures.
